How to make sure your solar products are genuine

5 simple checks before you buy

- Get a proper invoice. It should show the shop name, product model and date. You need it for warranty claims.
- Ask for the warranty card. Check that the serial number on the card matches the serial number on the product.
- Check the model and specs. Make sure the wattage, kW or voltage on the label matches what you paid for.
- Be careful with very low prices. If a price is far below other shops, ask why. It may be old stock, a different model or not genuine.
